Diamond Peel Effects

Initial Effects

After my first session, I felt my skin way cleaner than it used to. My skin no longer felt grainy. That night, my pores really looked tight. They looked diminished. I get this effect every time I had a session.

On the first few days after my first session, I had some tiny breakouts. However, they're not the usual big pimples that I had before. This is usually happens on the first week after a session. This gets better though on the next week.

I noticed that you will appreciate more the effects of diamond peel a week after you had your session. You get clearer skin and you don't have breakouts anymore. I guess this is why experts advise not to have a facial treatment a week before a special occasion such as a wedding. Facials should be done at least 2 weeks before.

Long Term Effects

Since I had a diamond peel treatment, I never had bad breakouts again. I never had large pimples anymore. My skin pores have minimized. And my face doesn't feel grainy anymore.

Another noticeable effect is that my eye wrinkles have diminished. Before treatment, I had these nasty lines around my eyes when I smile. But since I had the treatment, I noticed that they have greatly diminished.

The best long-term effect? My acne scars have shallowed. I have only had 8 treatments so far, but the effects are very visible.  I hope to get a picture soon so I can show you how much better my facial scars have become.

Right now I am saving up for my next 6 sessions. I availed the 7 sessions promo once more but I have only paid half of it during my last visit. I can't wait to see the effects after 14 sessions. I know it will be great!

    1. Sorry, took me sooo long to respond. You have to try and recall how your treatment was done. You can't say for sure that it's diamond peeling itself that caused you to breakout. Did your facialist wash her hands before the treatment? Did you have facial cleaning before it and do you think the tools used were sanitary? These are just a few of the factors that could cause a breakout. The decision to stop would depend on how bad your breakout is. From my experience, if I did have a breakout, it would only be one or two small pimples that go away in a few days.

  6. Go back to the dermatologist or visit a different one and have your pimples injected. I believe it's P100 in Surgilight

  7. Is it okay if I undergo diamond peel just for once??

    1. Yes, it is. Depending on your skin condition, you may notice a significant change or barely at all. Diamond peeling is a very gentle removal of the top layer of skin so if you have deep scars like I do, you're going to need a lot of treatment. But if have a pretty normal skin and just want a boost, one treatment is good.

    1. Hi Ira, it depends on what you want to achieve.
If you want to treat deep acne scars, what I would recommend is to opt for either dermarolling or using dermapen/dermastamp. Dermastamp is more preferable. I find this several times more effective and the results are faster.
If you only want to have better complexion and don't have deep acne scarring, going for a treatment every 6 weeks is a good maintenance.
One treatment is fine, but don't expect a permanent and lasting result as our skin continually goes through stress from our diet, hormones, environment. So treat diamond peel as a more advanced and more beneficial facial.

    2. Edit: Dermastamp or dermapen is more preferable.

    1. Hi, if you only have scars from a healing acne, I think it is okay. A good aesthetician will avoid your acne if it's bad.
In my experience, you get a facial treatment first before a diamond peel to cleanse your face and remove gunk.
If it's cystic acne that you have, it's better to treat the acne first before you get a diamond peel treatment.
You can consult with your aesthetician or dermatologist first. They should give you a good advice. If you feel like the aesthetician is forcing you to get a diamond peel if you have bad cystic acne, then it's better to go to a more reputable spa with better trained aestheticians.

  10. Last week , i went to one of the clinics of dermcare for Diamond peel but they refused since they still have lots of customers. They suggested to proceed at the belle la peau , just located in the 2nd floor in one of the malls here in cebu.. So I went to the Belle la Peau and was greeted with nice receptionist and staff..
During the session , all I can say medyo masakit sya lalo na yung sa pricking by using a hammer(forgot what exactly it is) .. After the session, I am really satisfied kasi super smooth ng skin ko and wala din kasi akong pimples., Bihira lang kasi akong magka pimples eh.. But after 5 days, my workmates and I noticed na may mga tumutubo na maliliit na parang pimples sa Noo ko, and then kinabukasan yung face ko nman ay mga pula2x na parang pimples na on the way na para tumubo... Any idea what is this at ano ang treatment?

    1. Hi, can't tell as I see no photos and I'm not a dermatologist either. I haven't experienced something similar before. I may have had one pimple or two after a session, but then I'm really prone to having breakouts. But those are rare, and if anything, they weren't like what you're describing.
If it isn't normal for you, it could be anything. Maybe just be careful about what you apply on your face in the mean time. You might also want to consider using natural oils as moisturizer, like argan oil, rosehip oil as they help with inflammation.

    2. Hopefully it's not because the aesthetician didn't properly sanitize her hands and the tools she used on you. From my experience with Dermstrata, the aestheticians who took care of me had hands that smelled like alcohol, and whatever pricking tool they used sounded like it was taken from a sealed packet as I heard a ripping sound every time before they used a pricking tool on my face.

    1. Hi Charlene, based on my experience, it depends on what kind of pimples you have and how many. If it's cystic acne I think the dermatologist or facialist would recommend to cure the cystic acne first. Ganun kasi sa pamangkin ko. But if it's just one or two here or there and it's not cystic, my facialist would proceed with Diamond peeling, but she would avoid the acne.

  12. Hello, I'm planning to visit a skin clinic and this will be my 1st time to have a facial or treatment. I just want to ask, which is more better: diamond peel or dermapen? My skin concerns are minor facial burns, slight sagging skin, and lines around my eyes.

    1. Hi, dermapen will help you with facial burns and lines around the eyes, but as for sagging skin, you may have to go for other options. You can look up videos from Dr. Davin Lim on Youtube so you can see what options you have for sagging skin.

    1. Hi, based on my experience, diamond peeling is a gentle form of exfoliation. You'll benefit from it, but you have to think about your goal. Is it to take care of hyperpigmentation, acne scarring (what type of acne scars)? Diamond peel is mild compared to other treatments such as laser and chemical peeling and you may need a different treatment depending on your skin condition.

  15. I tried having diamond peel and then a facial after. First time ko din magpadiamond peel noon. Planning to back after two weeks since sabi nila pwede ako bumalik every two weeks.

  16. I am planning to avail diamond peel in Dermcare. Anybody here na mkashare kung maganda ba ang effect? And what if I stopped it after 4 sessions? May bad effects po ba?

    1. I have to say Diamond Peeling is not the miracle treatment that we wish it would be or that spas claim it to be. It just removes the top layer of dead skin cells in a gentler way compared to chemical peeling. There's not going to be bad effects after you stop treatment. But you have to understand that our skin cells are going to die and these dead skin cells are ALWAYS going to accumulate. So eventually once it has accumulated on top and we're not doing proper skin care, then our skin is going to look dull compared to if you have proper skin care regimen.

    1. Hi, most dermatologists and aestheticians that I've watched say to give an interval of at least 2-4 weeks between sessions.
